Project Overview
Identify a feasible route for the installation of two new HV cables in Trabeg Cork City.
Project Brief
Carry out a full topographical and utility survey of the 3.75km proposed route for the cables to ensure the route is feasible.
Our Approach
We carried out a Band D topographical survey of the route, which was complemented by a full PA128 quality level B, M4P GPR coverage utility survey.
As there were tight deadlines on the project, we scheduled our topographical division to start the project so we could start submitting data to the client weekly. We then followed up with our utility survey teams. We scanned the route with our mobile mapping GPR to minimise traffic disruptions and ensure full coverage.
- Liaise with all utility providers and stakeholders in the area.
- Design and implement adequate traffic management plans for client approval.
- Deploy 2 x topographical survey teams on site.
- Deploy 4 x utility survey teams on site.
- Utilise our Stream DP mobile mapping GPR to cover the entire route.
- 825 manholes surveyed.
- Post process GPR and survey data.
Results
Both surveys were delivered to the required quality levels which allowed our client to successfully design and install the new cable route.
